It installs easily by bolting on the front tow hook or using your Type-3 bracket. The Type-3 bracket allows you to run the license plate bracket even if you don't have a front tow hook. These brackets are designed to work with factory or aftermarket front bumpers.
There are two versions of the front license plate bracket. Type-1 is the standard bracket, pushing the license plate as far as possible out of the way of the front opening in the bumper, allowing for no obstruction to cooling. Type-2 is designed for NB Miata with fog lights as it locates the plate so the fog light can operate properly. Type-1 & Type-2 work on both NA and NB Miata's. A bonus is license plates from around the world bolt right to these with no modification or drilling! USA, European, Japanese, you name it they fit!
